High Definition Video Recording

It’s getting easier and cheaper to get into high definition video recording nowadays, which is great. I never seem to be able to catch my favorite HDTV broadcasts when they run.
I’ve been looking into hd dvd burners. They look like a good option for archiving high def video, which is just what I need. Plain old DVD doesn’t cut it any more.
I’ve narrowed down my search to Toshiba Hd Dvd Recorder, I think. I was worried about the whole Blu-Ray vs. HD DVD fight at first, but what with dual standard players coming out, I don’t think it will be a problem.
